Cappagh GAA Club would like to take this opportunity to extend its sincere condolences to the Barry family of Cappagh Castle on the sad passing of PJ Barry.
PJ was a founding member of Cappagh GAA Club in 1992 and remained a lifelong member. He initially held the position of Treasurer before taking on the role of Chairperson a number of years later. Throughout the years, PJ also served as a selector at every age group, including adult level.
PJ was a trustee of the club and one of the main driving forces behind the purchase of the club's field in Ballingarrane in 1996.
His dedication, hard work and unwavering commitment to Cappagh GAA Club have left a lasting legacy. PJ will be fondly remembered by everyone associated with the club.

PJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his Wife and Family
P.J. is predeceased by his son Patrick, his 2 brothers and 9 sisters.
Forever loved and sadly missed by his wife Mary (Holland), his daughter's Eilís (Griffin), Marie (Looney), Niamh (Roche), Mairéad (Hennessy), his sons Conor & John, sons-in-laws, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, his 14 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours & friends.

Reposing at his home (V94 P110) Thursday evening (20th August) from 5-7pm.
Arriving in St. James Church Cappagh for requiem mass at 12 noon on Friday 21st August 2026 with burial afterwards in Kilcornan cemetery.
